Nationalism is an irrational belief.

All human beings regardless of their race share the same ancestors and in a tremendous rate the same genes. The slight differences are in insignificant features so it is absurd to believe in the superiority of some nations over others. What is more nations are getting mixed up for thousands of years so it is absurd for someone to speak about pure nations.

Nationalism in most cases advocates fair wars. Nationalism should not be confused with Nazism or other extreme ideologies.
Ethnicity is a broad concept that includes both the genes and culture, and cultural differences among races cannot be regarded as insignificant.
Self-determination because of oppression, inequality, deprivation of rights and unfair representation does not fall under the concept of nationalism, but of the patriotic liberalism which is legitimate.
Even in cases where nationalism does not reach extreme levels,it remains a key obstacle to the proper internal functioning of a society, as it causes a surge in racist attitudes and leads to violent or at least negative attitudes towards foreign residents.
Despite the differences in cultures and civilization, no race can be qualified as superior, it is just different, as there are no absolute values.
Cultural relativism leads to absurd conclusions and cannot be true. With cultural relativism everything seems permissable, even slavery , and social progress has no meaning. All human beings throughout the world share reason and since basic individual rights and justice are justified by reason and reason seems to be prevailing through ages, we can conclude that some cultures are less advanced than others objectively because they are , we could say, behind in time.
